A special thank you to Team GCRMC for their commitment to the health of our community. Fifty employees gave up their Valentine’s Day weekend to meet the urgent need to vaccinate our community. New Mexico Department of Health, Otero County Emergency Services, Otero County Health Department and the Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center supported this amazing effort to vaccinate 1200 seniors in two days.

Sunday morning weather presented a challenge not frequently experienced by our team; the decision was made early in the morning to continue with our commitment to the community. Thirty five staff members were joined by Mr. Matt Clark, Emergency Service Director to complete the mission we started on Saturday.

From the Vaccination Team: “The snow day was a challenge but the patience and positive attitude of our community made it an amazing and memorable event.”

At GCRMC, we gave our first vaccine in December 2020, as of February 26th we have administered 4,460 vaccinations. We are requesting an increase in our weekly volume to accommodate vaccinating 1000 individuals in our Thursday clinic. Vaccines are administered under the NMDOH guidelines for Phase 1b. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the past two weeks cancellations however, we did not receive the requested vaccines. All cancellations will be rescheduled when we receive confirmation on our shipment. We are expecting to receive this shipment over the next week. GCRMC is prepared and committed to meet the needs of the community in this endeavor.
