The Fracture Liaison Service is a care coordinated, multispecialty service championed by Orthopaedic Surgery. Our liasions utilize the support of local health care providers as well as Champion Orthopaedics to coordinate with your primary care physician to improve your quality of bone health and clinical outcome.

Barbara Turpin, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She has been in healthcare for 15 years and is happy to be in the role of GCRMC’s Fracture Liaison. Barbara has been working in the Emergency room for 13 years. She is an active members of the American Nurses Association and works closely with the National Osteoporosis Foundation and the National Bone Health Alliance regarding the care and protocol of the Fracture Liaison Service. Barbara grew up in Otero County and is very excited to be implementing this service for the community.
