Jennifer Lichtenfels, MD

Jenifer Lichtenfels, M.D. joined the Southern NM Family Medicine Residency Program in 2014 as a Pediatric Hospitalist. She supervises the residents at Memorial Medical Center during their inpatient rotations for newborn care and pediatric admissions. Dr. Lichtenfels graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric residency training at Michigan State University, E.W. Sparrow and Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Lichtenfels was a practicing general pediatrician in Las Cruces from 1988-2008. In 2008, relocation to Denver, CO developed into a faculty position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics with clinical appointments and teaching at the University of CO Hospital and Children’s Hospital CO, formerly Denver Children’s Hospital. Moving back to Las Cruces in 2013 provided the opportunity to blend her clinical teaching and general pediatric experiences by developing a Pediatric Hospitalist program at Memorial Medical Center to better serve the community pediatric needs and help broaden the pediatric experiences of the Family Medicine Residents.
