Emergency Room

Our Emergency Department is a 24-Hour, Level Three Trauma Center.

The department is staffed by physicians, mid-level providers, nurses and technicians. Lab services are provided 24 hours a day by a CAP-certified laboratory. Our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging department complements the services available in our emergency department. Hospitalists are available to meet the needs of patients without a primary care physician. Helicopter transport is available for patients requiring a higher level of care.

The emergency room nurses are all ACLS, PALS, and trauma nurse certified. Our emergency department takes pleasure in serving the community as the coordinator for the Safe Kids Coalition, providing helmets and car seats for children throughout the community.

The philosophy of the emergency department is that we take care of our friends and neighbors every day. When the unexpected happens, we want them to take comfort in our emergency department. To help you be better prepared for an emergency event, click on this Medication Form, print it, fill it out, and bring it with you to the emergency department. This will help us accurately document your allergies and medications.

Placing your loved one in our care is a privilege we value and a responsibility we regard as essential to our organizational mission “to provide quality health care to our customers.”

Our emergency department participates in community events. One of these events is the DWI awareness training for local high school students. This training covers the hazards of drinking and driving for Alamogordo High School before prom night.
