Your Hospital Team

The Medical Staff

The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care while you are in the hospital. Your physician, as the coordinator for your treatment program, should be consulted if you have any questions about your illness or treatment.

The Nursing Staff

Twenty-four hour care is provided by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nurse assistants. A nurse manager is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care on each unit. Please feel free to contact your nurse or the nurse manager if you have any needs, questions or concerns.

Pastoral Services

CHRISTUS Health believes that total patient care demands attention to the spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient, whatever your religious tradition. Your priest, minister, or rabbi is always welcome to visit you while you are here.

A chaplain service is available to support the needs of our patients’ families and our employees. Staff chaplains are volunteers from different ministries throughout our community. You may contact a chaplain by calling 575-443-7878 or ask your nurse to call for the chaplain on call.

Dietitians

The hospital maintains a dietary staff, which includes a registered dietitian to meet your dietary needs during your stay. If you have any questions about your meals or diet, call ext. 7452.

Patient Accounting

A representative from the Patient Accounting Department can answer questions about your hospital bill and help you interpret financial policies and billing procedures at the hospital. You may contact Patient Accounting by calling 575-443-7400 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Housekeepers

Your room is cleaned daily by a member of the housekeeping staff. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room, tell your nurse or nurse assistant, and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.

Volunteers

Volunteers contribute many hours of service and financial assistance to the hospital. They supplement the services of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their name tags and their unique pink jackets.

Other Personnel

During your stay you may be visited by many other healthcare professionals, including personnel from the laboratory and radiology departments and physical therapy. In addition, the CHRISTUS Health family includes many behind-the-scenes workers, such as accountants, engineers, educators, secretaries, food service workers, and others who contribute greatly toward your well-being while you are here.
