| Position Description: | The Cook prepares the food for meals served to residents, staff (where applicable), visitors, and the Meals-On-Wheels Program in facilities that provide them. Production sheets are provided to the Cook by the Assistant Food Service Director. Using these sheets the Cook obtains the necessary standardized recipes to prepare the food. The cook prepares the meats, potatoes, soups, vegetables and casseroles, etc., and gathers all ingredients, utensils and other supplies needed for food preparation. Condiments may be added during food preparation on the basis of personal judgment and experience. Cooking schedules are planned so food is ready according to facility service schedules. The Cook practices sanitary work habits and maintains a sanitary work environment. This description is not intended to be a complete list of duties. Other related duties may be assigned.
