Position Title:
Ultrasound Technologist
Position Purpose:
Provides healthcare services, applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of disease in humans. Performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. This description is not intended to be a complete list of duties. Minimum Qualifiactions:
Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited ultrasound program or graduate of ultrasound program with work experience. Must take “on-call” duty and respond within 30 minutes of request.
Future Expectation: Will successfully complete the physics registry (physical principles and instrumentation examination) and one RDMS corresponding specialty (i.e. Abdomen or OB or Small Parts) within eighteen months of hire (must attempt at least one of the previously mentioned registries within six months of hire and if not successful, at least two attempts within12 months of hire until successful within the eighteen month period).
