The staff of Scenic View Outpatient Surgery Center are pleased you and your physician have selected our facility for your healthcare services.

We want to make your visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible. To help us ensure that your procedure is a successful experience, please follow the instructions provided in this brochure.

Before your procedure
A nurse from our facility will contact you before your surgery date to be sure we have all the information we need, and that any questions you may have may be answered. The nurse will review your medical history and confirm your surgery time. Please be prepared to review all medications you are currently taking, including any over-the-counter remedies or dietary supplements. While most items cause no problems in day-to-day use, it is possible that some items may interact with medications or anaesthesia routinely used during your procedure, and thereby cause problems. Providing a complete list of medications and supplements with respective dosages will help avoid any such difficulties.
Do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have and let the nurse know if you have special needs.

Ask your doctor or the nurse about taking routine medications the day of your surgery/procedure.
Please tell the nurse if there is a possibility you may be pregnant.

Day of your procedure
Make plans to be in the admissions area at the scheduled time. Allow extra travel time for known traffic or weather conditions. Your appointment is set to allow adequate time to complete your admission procedures.

Bring all your insurance information with you. If special financial arrangements are needed, contact the Scenic View Outpatient Surgery Center prior to admission.

All paperwork given to you by your physician, such as test results. It’s also a good idea to bring along a written list of your prescriptions and over-the-counter medications or supplements you take routinely. While you will have discussed these with the nurse during your pre-procedure contact, this can insure that items discussed on the phone can be verified. Alternatively, you may choose to actually bring your medications with you in their containers so the staff can actually see these products.

After your procedure
You may spend one to two hours in the recovery area after surgery. A staff member will notify your family when you are moved to the recovery area. A family member may be able to visit with you during this time.

Your physician will provide specific
instructions to help you continue your recovery at home.

Again, it is vitally important for you to have someone available to drive you home after surgery. Even if your procedure was of a “minor” nature, the lingering effects of anaesthesia and/or other medications as well as possible limitations to your mobility will make it unsafe for you to attempt to drive yourself.

Financial Information
Scenic View Outpatient Surgery Center bills do not include fees for any physician or surgeon services. If your treatment includes the services of a radiologist, pathologist, anesthesiologist, or other physician specialist, you will receive a separate bill from these physicians. If you have questions regarding any of your physician bills, please call the telephone number printed on the physician’s bill.

Please be aware of any admission policies your insurance plan may have. You or your physician may have to adhere to certain requirements in order to insure maximum reimbursement. Failure to obtain pre-authorization,
