Position Title: Nurse Auditor

Department:Health Information Management
Position Description: Promotes good internal processes between Ancillary Departments, Patient Financial Services, Health Information Management, Information Systems, and Case Management. Reviews charts to ensure accuracy of charges and compliance with hospital, state and federal regulations. Assists in resolving billing edits and coordinates audit requests

The above wage range reflects the minimum, midpoint and maximum hourly rate for this position. New employees are hired between the minimum and midpoint of this range. The initial wage offered will be based on qualifications and experience.

    Qualifications:
    Education:Education: At a minimum, an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (RN). Must be currently licensed in the state of New Mexico as a RN in good standing. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with patients, physicians and co-workers are required.

    Experience:A minimum of 3 years clinical experience. Computer skills should include: ability to navigate and an understanding of the electronic medical record, the ability to access various web based systems, ability to use e-mail, a working knowledge of spreadsheet and document software
    Special Skills:Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding is a plus. Excellent communication skills are a must with the capability of exercising independent thought and judgement
